welcome to the forums, it's always nice to see a new face in here.

I have a set of the 2004 700EFI's and love them. take a look at my gallery when you get a chance, just click on the camera to the left.

as far as simple performance stuff, there really isn't anything simple other than adding a K&N air filter. some of the newest found performance mods is to add a clutch kit, order a airbox snorkle for a 05' 800EFI and install it on your atv. another is to order the dual exhaust header for the 05' 800EFI and install it onto your atv. this is not the dual mufflers it's just the head pipe which comes off the head and mates to the right side muffler flange. you can go to www.polarisoemparts.com and order the stuff cheaper than you can get it from a dealer all for about $100.00 with free shipping. the clutch kit is another story because it's like $175 and you have to either have the special dealer clutch tools or take it to a dealer to have a couple steps done for the installation. I have heard alot of great things about adding a clutch kit though. the most popular is the heelclicker I believe.

I have a 04.5 700 carb atv. Will this work for mine? If so, is there a post about it I can read?

a 04.5 is the exact same machine as the 04. the only thing that makes them an 04.5 is if it has the electronic fuel gauge with low fuel level flasher. All EFI's built in 04 had this feature from the factory. Polaris decided to add it to all sportsmans mid way through 04. with that said, yes the air box will fit your rig. do a search for 700 mods and you should be able to view some threads on the subject.

He must be waiting for some new ones to be approved.

04.5's also have the central front hub, rather than the hubs in the wheels.

All the twins had that from thestart in '02.

For the 800 update mods search for the "800 intake" and "800 exhaust on 600 " threads.

Welcome
