#1
hello! I was wondering if you guys could give some pointers to make my Sportsman 500 an even better mudder. I was thinking a 27" Bi-tri/combo on itp magmun wheels, i know i will need a lift kit but ow high. What clutch mods or engine mods will i need to pull these nasty tires, or do i need any. thanks for the help lads. Any wicked Sportsman photos or videos.

I have a 00 sp500 with that same tire combo you will need to put an 1 3/4" spacer in front, actual lift will be determined by your front accesories and what they weigh. The only time the tires rub are on turns that bottom out the suspension.
My clutch and engine are stock and have not had any problems so far,but you will need to run in low range. Run high range only on hard flat surfaces. The mudding ability is awsome with these tires, but you will need to keep wheel speed up to keep the tires clean. Also if you get stuck with those tires you will need more than another 4 wheeler to get you out.I can usaully follow other 4x4's around in 2 wheel drive.

I also recommend changing the primary clutch spring so the belt grabs better. The spring change made a WORLD of differance in my 00 Xplorer.Im currently running 26 inch Mudrunners all the way around.
Call Rick Ritter at 1618-644-3211.He will advise/sell you on the correct spring for your application. The mod is very easy and well worth the 25 dollars.Good Luck,Bill
