I can't figure out how to remove the clutch on my 97 sportsman. I need to remove it to get to the last bolt on the starter so I can install a new one. If anyone knows how to get the clutch off I would greatly appriciate the help.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

 

Spend the $25 on a puller!!!! You wont reget it almost anything you do to your quad you will need to remove the clutch.

 

I got mine off without a puller. take a strong screwdriver and jam it in the clutch so when you try to wrench the bolt off the screw driver will keep it from rotating. once the bolt is off it should be fairly easy to remove. may take a little pulling and jiggling to get off, but it will come off. If you have no idea what im saying, go spend ur money on a puller. haha

 

My puller was 13.00. Works great.
As for chevyboy, wait till you wreck something, or bloody some knuckles.
I'd rather spend the money and do it correctly.

 

haha... it worked and thats all that matters now
