Is it worth waiting a few months to get the EFI? I want one now!

Would the EFI take care of the no elevation issues/ jetting headache?

Any other pro cons to the carb v EFI?

Thanks
Dan

Yes it would be worth the waite.
Yes efi deals with the elevation issue.
EFI gets better fuel economy, throttle responce, cold starting is better.

ATVinRocks- Thanks for the quick feedback. That told what I needed, I want EFI. Can't wait so I ran out and bought a used one - See my other post.

mtpockets- Very sweet, I would be afraid to ride it.

Thanks!!!
Dan

Looks like MSRP for EFI will be $6999 vs $6699 for carb version.

'05 500 CARB vs '06 500 EFI: The carb is cheaper, only benefit. The EFI is going to have easier starts, adjustment for elevation/temp, and smoother throttle response. Also 25% better fuel economy.

Now '06 500 CARB vs '06 500 EFI, there are more differences. The '06 500 CARB loses the PXT tires and goes to the Titan 489's in 25", and it also loses EBS.

After riding both side by side, the carb VS EFI power feels the same, I doubt there is any power difference. But for a few $$$ the EFI is worth it for the easy starts alone.

That being said, if you prefer a 500 CARB, buy an '05! It will have the better tires, EBS, and even though the '06 is $100 cheaper, the '05 has rebates so you can still realistically get a btter price.

500 EFI is apparently available NOW. Check Abernathy's or Polaris of Chattanooga.

it's going CHEAP! one day left! NEVER started! only $5100! BRAND NEW!
to ans your question, i think they built around 1000 50th Special Editions. the blue is quite unique- it's PAINTED on! blue metalic. tri color seat.
my local Dealer had one so i had a chance to see one up close.
they met the guy's reserve so it looks like it's gonna sell
