Yeah you should probably get the Sportsman 400 if there's that much of a price difference, for slow trail riding and hunting it would be fine, just don't expect to win any drags.

 

O.K. now I bought the 400 and so far it has been great. Everything I need so far. Hopefully it will all work out. Paid 5100 total out the door compaired to 5900 for the 500. Just wanted to thank everyone for their imput it helping me decide. Thanks again and looking forward to reading more reviews and other problem and sympton that there is posted on this site.

You'll definitely want to get cv joint boot guards, I ripped 3 within a few months from each other.

 

I've ripped a lot more than that, but the polaris boot guards seemed to have slowed down my rip rate (but not stopped it).


ONEBADSPORTSMAN, did you get a winch with your wheeler (is that offer even still going)? If not, I'd consider that as a first (necessary) mod! I literally would not ride my quad without a winch. Use it once and it's worth having; no one likes walking 25 miles to call someone who can winch you out.
