'01 Polaris 90 - Where does this wire go?
2001 Polaris Sportsman 90 with 5 years of hard riding.
Had a persistant problem with spark plug cap being loose, took the coil to my dealer and he put a new cap on the wire.
When I reinstalled the coil, I reattached a black wire with lug to one of the coil mounting bolts, assumed it was a ground for something.
Ran OK for a few hours, then was hard starting, and died completely.
Took the coil off and found the cap was not conducting anymore.
So a new cap will probably fix it.
But.. when I took the coil off I noticed the black ground wire, is either burnt or broken through, and I can't find where it went to.
I looked at a newer 90 at the dealer, and this ground wire went to the CDI box.
But on the 2001, the box is in a different place, and all the wires attached to it are still good.
Anyone with a 2001 90 can tell me where this wire goes, and why it may have burned through?
