Default Carb question,Running Rich :(

I havent check the choke plunger real well to see if its seating, but it runs rich all the way from idle to wot. I will check the plunger in a few and see. It does have reed cages and I have removed it and check it, it is good. I have check all the other basics. I just havent figured why its so hard to get the replacement needle and seat for this thing. Big Dog do you remember where you got the after market carb?

I think I ordered it form Dennis Kirk. I think it was the 34mm Mikuni and I had to order a different needle set and a new carb intake boot kit. It had a different size inlet tube.

By taking the bowl off your not getting an accurate fuel level reading. The floats take up volume in the bowl. The most accurate way is the clear line method stated above. Your fuel level should be JUST above the split between the bowl and the body. In my experience if you set the float height carefully the fuel level will be right. Check your needle(in the slide) to make sure the clip, spacers and spring are seated properly. Also make sure the slide diaphram is intact. Is your air filter clean?

Banzai !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
