Default Belt prolems with 06' 500

I was wondering if anyone else is burning up belts on 06' sportsman's I have 146 miles and 2 burnt up belts. Warranty won't pay for either, say I abused it.

only you know if it is abused or not but they as a dealer need to check your alingment and freeplay of the belt it could be out of specs causing your problem. also check you motor mounts. if they find a problem and own up to it being a problem they should help you out. abuse is percieved many ways by people. what i or you think may be normal riding is considered abuse by many others!!!!!!!!!!

Do you do a lot of towing or low speed in high gear? I believe it generates almost twice the amount of heat when you go slow in high gear.

I haven't done any towing with it yet. I usually use low if I am going to be going slow for awhile, otherwise I use high. I also eased into the throttle when I got stuck because I didn't want to burn up this belt. I gave it full throttle the first time and burnt the belt up. But my dealer told me to give it full throttle to try and get the tires to move. Anyone have any good sites to look at clutch kits and highperfomance belts?

You need to recognize when your stuck or not. If your atv is in low range and your wheels are not moving with throttle on you need to learn to recognize this as a time to stop and regroup. At least with a Polaris all you do is burn a belt and not a driveshaft or something. Learn how the machine works and its limets.
