Why are the towing capacity different?

Why are the towing capacity different?
Hi!
I just wonder. Why are the towing capacity different between the 800/700 and the 450/500 sportsmans? The difference is also between the 800 X2 and the 500 X2.
Is it only the engine size that makes it? If so, why? Because in low you should tow the same with a 500 and a 800 engine, or am I wrong? Because the 500 6x6 can tow 1500 lbs.. so that shouldn't be the case...
Best regards
Henrik

Why are the towing capacity different?
You say bigger engines, then why would the Sportsman 6x6 tow as much as Sportsman 700 and 800? The 6x6 has a 500 cc engine. So that doesn't make sense.
Are there any diffrent in the chassi between the 450/500 models and the 700/800 models that would affect towing capacity?
Some one have any suggestions?

Kinuski -
I have a SP450, when I went to purchase mine
I compared all the spec's between my model,
500 and 700 for the value added if I spent
more, and for me I couldn't justify it.
Same chassis as the user manuals is the same for
all three. Not really any more clearance unless come
with bigger tires, or different shocks. I think the 700
claims more towing, and weight capacity on front/rear
racks. BUT no more additions from 450 to the 500.
The only bummer with the 450 is its not EFI. I am very
happy with my purchase, in fact I bought another one for
the wife. I am looking forward to hopping up ours with
some mods when the funds become available.
P.S
"You say bigger engines, then why would the Sportsman 6x6 tow as much as Sportsman 700 and 800? The 6x6 has a 500 cc engine. So that doesn't make sense. " --- I agree with your observations, something doesn't
jive here, I'm interested also in some more takes on this!

The machines like the 500, 700, and 800 have different springs, weight, and power so your going to have a different towing capacity. Also the 6x6 has a weight advantage over the others not to mention traction when towing.
Weight of the machine play's a large roll in what it can tow, stopping and turning you have to have the weight to control the trailer.
