If you have to do that the clutches are sticking.

how hard is it to rebuid one of these ,i have seen them on line for sale $300 bucks,

You will need a clutch puller to remove the clutch.But you will also need special tools to hold the clutch and break the spider nut off.So the best bet is to get a clutch puller to pull the clutch and take the clutch to a shop to get it rebuilt.
Or you can get on Ebay and contact a seller by the name Mohawk Salvage they have erbuilt clutches for less than $200.

Hi mate my name is Mick. I have got a problem with a 96 425 polaris magnum, it looks like the water pump is buggered! I was thinking about bypassing it and using a inline pump instead. If it will work it seems like it would be a lot easier? Also parts a very costly in Australia[approx $700 aus-$500 us] .What do you think??

would like to know if any one has rebuilt a carb for this bike. if so how hard is it ,or should i just remove it an take to dealer?

These carbs are very simple to rebuild.Get you a new needle valve and seat,clean the carb bowl,clean the main jet,clean the pilot jet(be sure all the little holes are clear)

you seem to know a lot about this model, thank you for all your help.
the manual says 30 weight oil for tranny?
but does it have to be straight 30 or can it be 10/30?

can the top end be done with the engine on the frame or do you have to take it off?
