You can do it with the clutches on but it is a real pain.Best to pull them off.

You dont want to pipe a 250 Trailboss.A pipe and silencer along with the matching clutch kit will cost you more than the bike is worth.Just get it dialed in and enjoy it for what it is.A good little work/riding quad.

It is always easier to pull the clutches off to do most anything. You will most likly need to get it bored and a new piston.Check the other post before you start tearing things apart.

My 95 250 Blazer, I did a head job without pulling the motor or clutch. I just had to bend the shift lever spring tab out of the way. Little tricky wrench work on a couple cylinder nuts. But if your changing crank seals, have to pull the motor anyway. Easy.
Measure the piston to find out what size you need. stock size is 72mm (2.834in.) You can over bore up to 74mm, but you just want to go .5mm at a time.
So if its stock, just go 72.5mm if you can.

I doubt you have "0" compression, unless you have a hole in your piston or your piston isn't even moving.

But take it apart, its super easy. Get a shop manual!
