Hi guys,

Father just bought an 02 sportman 500 with 1300 miles Bike is in mint condition but hadn't had much maintenace done. Oil was BLACK!!

Got the bike home, opened air box lower part had probably at least a cup of oil in box.

Is it normal to have air pressure from the tube to the left (Clutch side) of air filter?

Rode the bike a bit yesturday, engine is running perfect. Thinking someone in the past might have overfilled the old causing excess oil in air box???

Any sugestions

clean the box and keep on checking it to see if any more gets in there. make sure the oil isnt overfilled.

 

Could have also put the quad on it's side,or upside down.........Any scraches on the handlebars or on top of the pod?..........When my wife put hers over in a slow roll the oil went into the air-box also.............Just though I would let you know.............Caper............

 

Actually bike was missing the plexiglass part of windsheild, never thought much about it. Dealer gave a new one and we installed it. Might have been slightly rolled and left on it's side.
