dumb, dumb, me always seems to learn things the hard way. lol. i put my speedo in the trip stage and then flipped my switch to overide my button and low and behold the trip went to "0" and it took me a few minutes to figure out the heck i did. so leason learned dont throw the switch in the trip odom. if you dont wat to loose your trip milage. glad to pass on my stupidness.

Hello-I am new to this forum and saw you have a explorer 400-I recently purchased one that was set up for racing-rebuilt engine, clutch modified, piped and jetted-Mine is a 96 model and will peg the 60mph speedo with 2 people on board-one thing i noticed-4wd will only engage in reverse-noted when i had it up on blocks-any ideas? front shafts are turning and it works good in reverse with the override button engaged-i assume that the o.r. is for reverse. Any help would be appreciated-I am good with a wrench

well, to make 4wd work in reverse you must have the 4wd button pushed in and hold the override button also..... but as far as going forward. it should work all the time.... check you wiring from the switch to the front tansfer case....

sometimes the switch on the trans. is falty and will make it work only in reverse w/ the button pushed.

Also make sure that the override switch isn't ON when you turn on the ignition, as the LCD display will be in diagnostic mode. If you're not prepared for this, it will look like something is wrong. LOL!!
