Lets hope they put the tight belt clutch setup off the Hawkeye on the Sportsman. No belt lag, instant engagement and movement when throttle is pressed, much much harder to slip a belt.

97xplorer, how are you hoping they update it? Myself, I'm hoping Outlaw-based frame and suspension, hi-output (true) 800cc efi, hi-lo PVT tranny, receiver hitch, sporty plastic, and 25" tires. I'd rather see an updated Scrambler than a Sportsman 950-1000.

Just picked up an outlaw 525 last saturday, with everyone talking about changes, I hope it doesnt go away. Even if they made changes I would care, i could not be happier with this quad. Ive ridden everything from every brand and this is by far the fav in my book. Hope they dont change too much. I would like to see them release a real light 450 with the KTM in it though and SRA instead of IRS. Just would be interesting to see how it keeps up with everything else.

On that website, there's a thread about how on the CARB website Polaris has a new Outlaw 450 listed, but no Pred 500, no Outlaw 500, and no Scrambler 500. Don't freak out, the Manuf. don't list their new secret stuff on there because it's publicly available info. The Scrambler could be gone, but more likely, there's a new version, or Polaris has an all new model to replace it coming out, and they don't want anyone to know about it yet. In January Polaris had a n analyst/shareholder meeting and they said the 08 model year would have their most complete sport atv line-up ever. Eliminating 4 sport quads, (scrambler, trailblazer, Outlaw 500, and Pred 500), and only offering an Outlaw 525 and 450 doesn't sound like a very "complete" sport atv line up to me. I'm sure there's some new stuff on the way.

here is what i heard from the rep. smaller 400/450 sportsman/hawkeye. and a new 800 based on the rzr engine tranny which is all made together which will result in a lighter machine. he speculated in the 100 lb range as for weight reduction... but remember these are just rumors. he swears he doesnt know anything untill the dealer show......
