Clicking is the Starter, if the starter works but the bendix does not then you would still hear a working starter spinning over. Mine would click at the solenoid but it was the starter brushes sticking. Easy things to clean up and get moving again.

Tapping the starter worked for a short while until they were just stuck to bad.

Just remember to tap GENTLY. The starter uses a permanent magnet and could be damaged from too hard of a hit.

 

I'll pull it off before I start rapping on it.
I'll let you all know how I make out with this.
I've going through a battery and an ecm trying to get the starter to work. I wonder how much I would have spent at the daeler letting them figure it out.

The problem ended up being the red battery wire not being screwed down tightly onto the starter. The nut had backed off and was making intermitent contact.
starts right up now

 

My Starter is shorted or something It will not turn the engine at all I replaced the bettery at 600miles. I t started perfect on time and now nothing thank God I was near a neighbors garage out of the rian when it would nt start again.
