Default my little 90 is going crazy

Ok, one day my batery was drained, so i started up my atv, and kept it running for a while, like 30 min, just idleing, nothing, else, so onece i was done mowing my lawn, i walked down to it to see if my batery was fully charged by turning it off and trying to start it electricaly, so it worked, so i reved it up once with the actual throttle cable cause my throttle assembly is broken, so i pulled the cable and let go, and to my suprise it wouldn't stop reving up, the reving sound actually increased, and kept on going until full throttle, so i'm thinking turning the key on it would shut it off, well no, it kept running, so i used the kill switch, what do u think happened, didn't shut off, so i'm just backing away from it just incase it explodes, a few minutes of after i shut every thing off, the atv shut off. So now i'm afraid of even going by it, thinking it might start itself up, lol, if ne one has any idea why this happened i would be glad to know, cause i don't want to be riding it and it suddenly start going and won't stop when i push the kill switch. and by the way, i started it back up again after this to see if it would shut off and it did, but i really want to know what's wrong

lol, yeah the throttle is has two parts to it, the throttle cable and the throttle asembly, it's not an electric throttle, i don't think cause i opened it up and theres just a few peaces of metal and some springs, but in the throttle assembly there is a few wires that go to the throttle, and i am wondering if thats what ur talking about, i'll check it out tomorow, but i've had the the throttle wide open before for a while one time when riding trails, and it did not shut it off, but it didn't stay reved, what i am asking is why did it keep reving up when i was not pulling the throttle cable? which leads right to the engine(almost one hundred persent on that). and why it didn't shut off when i shut the key and kill switch.
