Default New Clutch

Well I got the new clutch installed and put the belt back on and it wanted to pull so I added a shim behind the secondary and it still pulled. I took out 2 of the shims leaving only one and everything worked just fine. I wonder why I had to remove one of the shims. I hope that one shim is okay to have in the secondary. I also would like to know if I should have lubed anything on the clutch. I feel that lube would just hold dust.

Default New Clutch

Sometimes removing shims helps realign clutches because of wear and shifting of engine motor mounts, can flex a little and clutch backing plate just flexes a small amount with it. Have done the same thing. Yes one way clutch can and will attract dust, but needs a little lubrication now and then for the bearings and small metal bearing retainer strips.
