Can't get rear cv axel out of 1996 sportsman 500 transmission

Default Can't get rear cv axel out of 1996 sportsman 500 transmission
I have it unbolted, tried using a slide hammer and pry-bar and still can't get either side of the axels out. 1996 never been removed. How can I get these out?

PENETRATING FLUID,HEAT HEAT,HEAT, have someone pry while you jerk in and out HARD! will eventually come out,splines probably rusted with dirt and grime!

Are you just tryin to replace the boot? If so you can do this w/ the axle in the machine. But good luck on geting that axle out.

Just trying to remove the axle to replace the universal joints......
