Sportsman 90 Brake Adjustment
#1
I have a Sportsman 90 and the brakes have gone soft. I adjusted the front (right handle) by loosening the lock washers and backing out the screw adjustment. The rear brake (right handle?) does not have the same adjsutment. Can anyone give me some pointers on adjusting the rear? Thanks

LEFT HANDLE is for rear brakes and are adjusted by turning thumb nut on rear brake cable, adjust to where you can still lock front brake lever. If have to adjust all the way up,may need new brake shoes. Good luck

Also if you adjust the thumb nut all the way up check to see of you have a nut and bolt that can allow for more adjustment in the same cable/screw. I ordered rear brakes and AFTER I replaced them I noticed this item. i have a 2007 Polaris outlaw 90

I will answer your last question first, it ran GREAT in the cold. Last year during the snow I had it out pulling sleds in the snow around the yard! TROUBLE is a relative term, my son that rides this quad is very very hard on bike's and to put it in perspective he has two other machines that routinely go down do to his hard USE. I say use because he does not abuse the machines (he is 8 or so) This biggest problem has been with the brakes and we ride A LOT in the mud and water (small puddles and creeks) I replaced them recently with EBC brand brakes and we shall see if they hold up better. Overall the machine has been rated the best 90 and I would agree. Anything else just PM me!
