sportsman touring and X2
The X2 doesn't feel any bigger than a regular Sportsman, although to me and the Owner (my wife) it actually feels smaller than my 800 in all categories except one.
My 800 turns noticeably tighter than the 2-up machines in awd. When they are on drive ground that Turf mode on the 2-up machines beats the Regular sportsman hands down.

I just sold my 07 500 x2 and bought an 09 800 touring. As mentioned the X2 is handy if you need the box, but for us the comfy seat sold it for my wife as most all of our riding is done 2 up. Both great choices.
Does anyone know if Polaris has done anything about the extreme heat problem on the right leg. Haven't had a chance to use this new one yet.

The one thing I'll say against both the X2 that I have and against the touring too--one of the reasons I wanted the 400lb rear weight rating on the X2 was to use cat 0 implements like the kolpin or cycle country, but noone seems to make the mountings for the touring/X2. Something about the rolled suspension makes it difficult, I guess.
