Ahh crap
It seems just that garter spring or retainer ring gave out.The hilliard looks fine like in your pics Mechanike.The hub though did have some light scoring on it.

Ahh crap
if its behind the hilliard with three tangs on it,its called a armiture plate, can be had at polaris for about $18 where i'm at.. play in the bearings usually detroys the plate and hilliard.
