Yeah you can buy the locknride connectors and they even have brackets that come with it.
I took a Quadrax box and modified it to fit. I must say i did a dang good job with it!
Ill post some pics of the box on here later.

A one inch expanding boat plug will fit the holes also. Much cheaper route to take but not quite as easy as the lock-n-ride anchor.

I had a Toro lawn mower that had a heavy diecast deck that I broke when I hit a rock. The machine was 3 years old, way after the 90 day commercial warranty. The engine and everything else was perfect. My Dealer made a call, Two days later a rep from Toro showed up at my doorstep with the new deck. We went to the dealer where he picked up the old deck, because this was the first they had ever heard of this happening, and he wrote my dealer a check to cover the swap. This was on a $400 new in 1981 machine, that was 28 years ago, AND 53 UNITS LATER WE ARE STILL BUYING TORO. Maybe these young, in comparison, ATV manf. can take a lesson from a lawn mower maker and stand behind their products.</end quote></div>

This is a perfect example as to why a manufacture or dealer should go above and beyond. But also when customers have this same experience should do their part as well. Let the owner/manager know of their wonderful experience and show their appreciation by being loyal to them. Only then will manf/dealers will get the hint that we as customers are mad as hell and wont take it any more! lol!
But seriously here's an example how important us consumers are and I hope those that this pertains to will read!
I work at a small family winery in WA state and being that the economy is in the crapper and we are not the easiest to get to, our repeat customers are the ones that are buying and keeping us going.. They come back because we have a good product, they get treated as we would want to be treated and have a good time. I can't express this enough. It takes very little to keep your customer happy, and customers are not stupid, be honest and up front with them and do the best you can.
I'll get off my soap box here, but there is a good saying and it would be best to remember for all you manufactures and dealers out there.

"It takes a lifetime to build a good reputation but only a few moments to tear one down."

I would have to go with better fuel range also. If you ride it to have fun gas pumps are an item not to be bypassed.</end quote></div>

The best I've gotten with this machine was 62 miles per tank. And when Polaris sent me the questionarre the other day in the mail, I went on-line to say that I would like to see a bigger tank fitted for this machine. So far, this is my ONLY complaint with it. Other than that, it's been great so far.

And if Polaris does deside to re-manufacturer a larger fuel tank, they should then give us Polaris owners a rebate for the new tank.

That is my .02 cents.

Interesting thread! Yea, I know some of the dealers can be a bit brash and Polaris has this exclusive DEALER process thing w/r to repairs under warranty and recalls etc.

Lets NOT GO TOO NEGATIVE! For one, my dealer has treated me pretty good and did me a great service with the ECM recall service! I know during that time there was a HUGE wait and alot of unsatisfied campers but you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I think all of us have seen/exp. some week engineering on various issues.

For example:
Excess heat melting plastic (Bigger Sportsmans)
Hawkeye steering/Suspension issues
Polaris winches
Glacier 2 plow frame

Except for the last though correct me if I am wrong hasn't Polaris come through and improved their products the next years and honored many (NOT ALL) repairs during crisis?

Thoughts?

Hey R, I posted a thread on the glacier 2 on the xp. They have fixed that issue but on the XP's only. They should get a revised mount to all of you with the traditional sportsmans to save face. Nothing makes more mad than something that won't do what it was designed to do. If my mount would have failed I would have broke it in half drove to Medina shoved one half in the guy that chose the system, then would have went to moose and properly placed the other half in the designer.

i had a 6 month warranty on my 00' sportsman. luckly i had put plenty of miles on it before the warranty ran out since the temp sensor whent out 3 monthes after i got it.

my new 08' iv had the battery freez, and the solinoid go out and it starting like crap in winter. takes awhile for it to idle nice. but if i dont have engine or major ele problems ill be happy.

i could have got the extended warranty for another 6 monthes for a full yr. think it was like another $150 or so. should have been inclueded in the orinal price. if my last sportsman gona be like this one ill be fine. but you never know. it be nice to have a full yr of a warranty. since you know least your coverd.

what would i like to see improved or added:

*1yr warranty
*bigger altinator. so the battery dont die so fast when useing the winch, hand warmers, thumb warmers and lights. or least an optional upgrade for it.
*more lock and ride add ons. id like to see a universal sprayer mount. ill probily have to build my own for my fimco with a boom sprayer. but i like to make things anyways...
*lock and ride fuel cell. least 5gals. need it at the end of may...................

edit: should also add my 00' sp came with a free oil change. now they dont... like to see that again...
