You need to get to the bottom of the problem with the significant amount of oil getting in the oil box, or it won't matter what filter you choose, as something is wrong?



Did you/do you roll the quad over or on it's side frequently?

Is the breather blocked?

Is there too much oil in the quad?



On a side note, I see your "Recon" avatar. Are you/were you a Recon Marine?

I haven't seen the problem since I cleaned the air box and replaced the paper filter with the K&N.

Note: I purchased the 2007 Predator used from a dealer. It was a trade in.

I guess I was anxious to ride and only checked the oil and the other fluid levels. The oil was a little high but I attributed that to checking the oil after the unit was running for more that 20 min. I didn't inspect the air box. I was taking the quad on and off a pickup (using a rather short ramp). I didn't turn the fuel off when doing that either. I've had 2 decent runs since the problem. Nothing negative happened so far. If there was too much oil (which could have been the case) it isn't now as a good amount was cleaned out of the air box and was saturating the paper filter. I never rolled the quad but who knows what happened prior to me purchasing it.
