Thumbs up 850 xp atv of the year

good choice and congrads! on getting the 850xp... atv magazine picked the 850xp the atv of the year..atv magazine also did a 7 atv shoot out under 7,500 and the polaris 550 xp won hands down..it beat the can-am outlander 500...,honda foreman rubicon...,kawasaki brute force 650...,yamaha grizzly 550.....artic cat 550...and the susuki king quad 450. so i guess polaris is doing something right and deserve a pat on the back!

Picked up my new 850 with EPS last Friday. I was hesitant to give up my 08-800 but after putting 50+ miles on the new one I no longer question my decision. This thing is sweet thus far. I think it will only get better with my new tires/wheels and it will look better once I recieve and install my custom brushguards, right now it feels naked without all the added toys and tools.

Fishy.....Looks like you got a set of track for the beast.

What kind of brush guards are you going with? I'm still thinking about it, but definitely need them. While bushwhacking, I've been slowly pushing over small trees with the front end and it's been taking a beating. My side fenders are all scared up. Oh well, it's made to be used, try not to abuse it though.

I'm getting some of the ATV-guru guards but am having John do a little extra customizing on mine. I'll be sure to post up some pics after I recieve them and my front wheels/tires. I hope to have every thing before memorial day weekend but it may be cutting it close.

I had the tracks for my 08-800. I haven't picked up the brackets for the new machine yet..... no point until I get a plow bracket fab'ed up so I can use my extended plow with it. For now I'll just throw the tracks and plow on the wife's 800. I may try another style track also and let her have the Prospectors.

Are you looking for snow only types? I looked at a lot of others and ended up with the Prospectors. Seemed like the best option for the XP. You should start a new thread when you start shopping. Would like to hear how it goes. Nothing like plowing with tracks...it's nuts. I folded my plow like sheet metal.

I'm not sure what I'll go with if I get a different set. Probably a snow only track unless there is a way to leave the mounting brackets on and switch to tires in a matter of minutes.

I didn't have any issues with my plow last year and I did some extensive lake plowing for my fishhouse.
