Default clankity clank on 550 xp

i have a 550 xp with about 200 miles on, and on my right back side of the quad is making a clanking sound, its really noticeable when im turning right. im thinking it could be my brakes but my brakes are tight, so im thinking it could by my cv joints. would anybody else have any ideas. its my second issue i have to fix.
im going to tie up my brake caliper and turn right and see if it does it.

Sounds to me like the joint. Is it still under warranty?

no it isnt under warranty. thats the bad part. but what i did was switch drive shafts at the rear from left to right. and clanking isnt there anymore. if it is its very slight. becasue i wanted to eliminate the cv joint to see of the sound was still from the right side. its not there anymore.

It was probably something loose then. And when you switched shafts and reassembled, you tightened it up. I hope you Loctited all nuts and bolts.

FWIW - my dealer replaced BOTH rear axles for noise issues. I had 500 miles or so at the time. MrsBMQ's 850 doesn't make any noise - yet - after 350 miles. Mine started when the quad got to almost 500 miles.

ive been driving my 550 xp for a while now, with only 200 miles on it. there is now a high pitch whine and howl, coming from the back at around 30 miles a hour... so i then checked the cv joints and come to realize that both inner and outer cv joints at the rear where so hot i could not touch them, and that the paint was completely gone. i then touched the front cv joints and they were all cool as a cucumber.

so now i have to replace all the cv joints at the back. with no warranty its going to be pretty costly.
