2010 Sportsman 550 X2- $9K OMG!
Has Polaris gone completely crazy! (or am I?)
$9,000 for the 500 class ATV's is completely insane imo! Yes it has a little (and I mean little) dump body that converts to a thinly padded, somewhat un-comfortable second seat but c'mon! Nine grand?
What do you guys think?
What are dealers charging in your area?

I just got my 550 X2 delivered today. Paid $8400 for it. I must say that price wasn't a major factor in my decision making, so sticker shock never really set in. I wanted a 2-seater so I can take my wife or one of my kids out on occasion without needing to worry (too much) about them falling off. I've never owned an ATV before, so 800 seemed like a bit more than I needed at the moment (though I wasn't completely against the idea). I'm guessing my next one will likely be an 800. I went for the dump box thinking it may get some good use around the house. My wife loves to garden, so if I can use one of my toys to help her out with it, all the better. Sure, it doesn't have power steering, but then again, it's not an 800.. I'm not convinced it needs it.
I must admit, when I first started looking, I was really considering the 09 800 X2, but after speaking with others about the differences, the overwhelming verdict was that the 2010's were much better overall due primarily to the body style changes. It's also my understanding that the '09 models didn't come with the front storage box, which the 2010 does... so that's a little of your price difference there.

The 2010 X2 is a complete change as the Sportsman XP was in 2009.....radical. Both XP and the X2 command a higher price while the Sportsmans seem to be more of a bargain. I don't care to pay higher prices as anyone but I love the new stuff....and still waiting for an X2 550 with EPS.......NoJoke......and OffRoaded...what color did you get?

What feature does a XP 550 have over a 750 KQ? or even a AC 550? The post was about what is a mid size ATV doing in the Big bore ATV price range? I,m just talking about the regular XP550. There is no 750KQ x2 yet.
Now thats from where I live, maybe the XP550 does not sell for more than a 750 in your location. I did like the XP tires though, but
the KQ 750s DOHC motor and power is worth more money to me than the XP 550's 26' redial tires I could get online for $300 at anytime.

NoJoke - I got green, though to be honest, I wasn't overly happy with either. I really liked the sparkly blue color they had on the '10 XP's. It was the only one the dealer had so far, and although I could have ordered one in red, I'm an impulse buyer and didn't want to have to wait. I'm really not sure I would have enjoyed red anymore than green anyway.
TLC - The things that sold me on Polaris overall were the All-wheel drive, the selectability between Turf/2wd/4wd, the inclusion of ADC (I have a rather long & steep hill between my back yard (where I intend on keeping it) and my front yard/driveway area, the ease and wide selection of attachments (I hope to keep pumping money into it for quite some time - I enjoy spending money), and finally, the overall looks... though I greatly prefer the looks of the XP's over my X2.
I'll try to get some pictures posted this weekend...
What are others seeing in terms of prices? Is my 8.4k a fairly good price, or could I have done much better? I also got an average of 15-20% off all the accessories I bought to go along with it... don't know if that's somewhat standard or not.
