So true....hilarious mental image of a slobbering attorney licking his "chops", like a wild dog.

I probably couldn't but I'm sure there are people that could.........I'm sure you could have too.

LOL... I bet the Polaris lawyers don't think it's so hilarious.

If I thought it was a POS, I would say so. Yes, I would buy another one, but I'd get the three year warranty as I got on my '09

If you're covered and something goes wrong, it's not that big a deal. If you're not covered and something major (like ball joints) goes bad.....you're not a happy camper. I understand the frustration in certain situations. Same applies to all manufacturers of all gear.
Maybe "talked up" was the wrong choice of words..the XP is a great ATV for the most part...and the guy I am talking about said how much he was impressed with it many times...so when the front end started falling apart on him he didn't want to post about it.

No worries. The whole thing pretty much sucks. I feel much better with the knowledge that this exists and what to look for though. I look at it all as a progressive failure that needs to be watched each ride, until a real fix is supplied. Doesn't take but a minute to verify joint condition now that most of us are aware.

I feel bad for the guys that don't follow the Polaris forums. You know there are a lot of people out there that are completely oblivious to the condition. One can only pray they are not rippin' along a rail bed at 50mph when one goes. Like you said, they'll be no walking away from that.

The severity of the situation depends on your level of knowledge about it.

Exactly.....I wonder how many owners follow the forums? We kind of live in our own world here..those that don't follow the forums likely have no idea... And those that don't have a build date after Jan will still not get the notice, even though they may have issues. My Oct build is still registered to me with Polaris(sold it to someone overseas)...haven't seen the first notification.
I agree it is easy to check, but to do it properly requires lifting the front end off the ground...how many riders check the ball joints on a new machine?
