Well it is still $950 off the 850 Touring's MSRP..and I got a winch and bumpers..."back door"?? deal or not...can you get a 850 Touring with bumpers and a winch for $950 off MSRP?? I think not....

I probably couldn't but I'm sure there are people that could.........I'm sure you could have too.

I could care less about posting negative things about Polaris. Yeah, it sucks, and they're fixing it. One can not predict the future, so if something goes wrong with a bike or anything else down the road, previous statements of satisfaction no longer apply. This is one of the reasons I don't flame other manufactures or talk up any particular machine. However, I will defend something I like if slammed. -Buy what you like, sell what you don't. If I thought it was a POS, I would say so. Yes, I would buy another one, but I'd get the three year warranty as I got on my '09
If you're covered and something goes wrong, it's not that big a deal. If you're not covered and something major (like ball joints) goes bad.....you're not a happy camper. I understand the frustration in certain situations. Same applies to all manufacturers of all gear.

I feel bad for the guys that don't follow the Polaris forums. You know there are a lot of people out there that are completely oblivious to the condition. One can only pray they are not rippin' along a rail bed at 50mph when one goes. Like you said, they'll be no walking away from that.
The severity of the situation depends on your level of knowledge about it.

No worries. The whole thing pretty much sucks. I feel much better with the knowledge that this exists and what to look for. I look at it all as a progressive failure that needs to be watched each ride, until a real fix is supplied. Doesn't take but a minute to verify joint condition now that most of us are aware.

I agree it is easy to check, but to do it properly requires lifting the front end off the ground...how many riders check the ball joints on a new machine?
