Default 97 Explorer 500 hubs.

Just serviced the bikes for storage. On going thru front hubs, I noticed not much for lube in the right side and some moisture. I forced grease thru and got the moisture out. So now its full of grease and not fluid. Any one know of any drawbacks to running grease instead of fluid? It shifted in and out of 4 in my heated shop just fine.

i don't know that the hiliard clutch will work correctly when used in the cold, but you said storage so....... you may have to take that side apart in the spring and use some degreaser. if you don't have any polaris hub lube, you can use type "f" auto.trans.fluid as a substitute.
