I found out this morning that it is a 2002 so it will be the H.O version. I'll have to do some digging for jetting the 34mm that will be used on the motor.

Make sure the dealer checks the exhaust cam lobe for wear before you buy it, those motor were know for that in some cases. Happens alot when people try to run non sythetic 0W-40 oil throgh them.

Easy quick job for them especially with the motor out of the ATV.

That is the first I was going to do before it leaves his shop. The original 400 has some wear on it to - 1300 miles on it but the lack oil probably didn't help!!

Don,t get to freak out about it, our 97 500 has 7,500 miles on its original cam and it runs great, but we change the oil evey 50- 60 hrs and have been using Sythethtic 0w-40 from Polaris,Amsoil and sometimes Mobil1 since it was new. My 2001 500 has 3200 miles now.
