so is the reverse overide switch doing any thing disabling starter? is there any switches on the shifter? The only lights that light on dash pod is the blue headlights. No reverse or neutral light , lites up at any time. I ran out of time today to remove starter wires and clean them. I really dont know the past history on the starter . any sugestions are greatly apreciated. Thanks

It should crank without the dash lights working, mine does. Have you crossed the solenoid over? If it just clicks, tap the starter with a hammer while holding the button.

I removeed the starter this afternoon. It was locked up with water/ oil/ grease inside ... Completly shot... I rebuilt the one off my parts motor and it is now working. Got bike started with starter but it wouldnt idle. I had to gas it to keep it running. I guess its time to rebuild carb next weekend.

Thanks Everyone
