08 sportsman touring 500?

First of all lonE-
What I meant to say was I average 60 miles per "atv ride" over the course of a month- meaning I might ride 50 miles one weekend, 110 miles the following weekend and 80 miles the weekend after that.
And second- you're way out of line accusing me of lying about riding 40mph in tight wooded trails.
Your whole premise on why I can't ride 40mph in a trail is laughable- you have obviously never ridden a big bore, sport tuned suspension like an outlander / renegade 800 or any other big bore sport SRA quad!
Some day you'll graduate to a big bore sport tuned suspension- and you'll think back at your silly, half though, inexperienced, over-confident argument.
Contrary to what you believe- NOT all atv’s are created equal, and a trail does not establish any base line of atv equality. When an experienced rider is married to a high performance machine, he will outperform, out maneuver and out ride another rider who in less experienced at manipulating his atv on the same trail. Larger, higher hp motors enable the rider to manipulate the atv over and through obstacles easier than a smaller, less hp motor-
Had you any experience riding these atv’s or dirt bikes, you’d already know this.
I will own a raw forest and have no problem weaving and manipulating my atv over & around obstacles at 40mph (which is slow by some riders standards.)
What really pisses me off is you don't know who I am, and you have absolutely no basis for calling me a liar! Your first post on this thread directly insinuated that I (and moose) had no integrity, and instantly discredited our experience because YOU cant comprehend any rider navigating a trail faster then what you ride
That's asinine! Like moose, I'm also a god fearing honorable human- and have absolutely no reason to lie about how I ride.
Maybe someday you'll grow up and stop believing you know it all-
Your cute little insipid tantrum about people "dispensing crap" and me calling you out on your **** poor attitude is (blatantly) directly related to your itty-bitty feelings being hurt because I gave my opinion & experience riding a 550xp (which you happen to own). My advice? Get over it. The only one here treading water and dispensing crap is you.

You don't know me either. But I'm going to let you in on a couple of things...
1. You couldn't hurt my feelings... ever.
2. I'm never one that claims to know everything. When I make a mistake, I am man enough to say it. Period.
With that, you said what you said. If you meant something else, then you should have stated it instead of trying to brag. Statements like that **** me off, because I know they are not true.
You're trying way too hard with your rant above. I could care less what you ride. What bothers me about you is you go way over the top trying to make your point. So you want to see the guy buy an 850 bike. Big deal! But your assessment of other bikes is so far out of it. You've done this more than once and other folks have had to speak up.
And now my advice to you...take your own advice and get over it. I called BS on some things you've said, and if that's too much for you, then so be it.

This thread doesn't rock for me. It shouldn't have gone this far and I take responsibility for that. My apologies to Moose and Beergut. I could have made my original post in a different way to express my point better. And I made it worse by continuing the back and forth. So with that, I ask that this die. And I should not forget to apologize to the original poster for getting this completely out of shape. I'm sorry for that.

I was not bragging- I was speaking of my own experiences and facts- You know nothing about truth, only what you think is true. unless you can prove otherwise, keep it to yourself.
Trying hard with a rant above?
I was simply responding to your accusation that I'm a lier, and I was also explaining to you the facts- You would be wise to not comment on things you do not understand. What I have ridden, and my experiences while riding it are 100% relevant to the op's topic- does not matter if you're not interested in my experiences- the op might be (seeing as he asked for an opinion)- Clear? There is no over the top- just me expressing how I feel about you.
In case you were un aware- this was a thread posted by a person who wanted opinions on buying an atv, on an open forum. I answered, and I continued to have a polite, fun conversation with the op about his topic- until you began the BS- That's right, you began this BS.
I don't even know what that means- speak up?
Done what more then onec...? Give an opinion and engage in a specific topic about an atv and which size to buy? huh?Being a dictator with your friends and family may work for you- but I'm not the guy you want to try to start that crap with. You don't get to make any statement you want without justication or without cosequence.
I'm a passionate guy- I tend to take it personally when some nut job accuses me of lying about a statement I made that’s 100% true. Seeing as that this keyboard is my only avenue of communicating the fallacy in your accusation, I will use this keyboard to the best of my ability to make that point.
I’m not a teenager slinging **** around a personal blog- I’m very satisfied with what I have accumulated and accomplished in my life, and my integrity carries over into many aspects of it. I will defend it. If you don’t like that, then choose a different web site to pick an argument.

Hey maybe we'll see you guys in the Octagon some time? haha,, i got my money on BG!,, but on a serious note,i was with BG when we were chasing a couple dudes from Atv Alliance site, and Yep we were doing 40mph trying to keep up,was a little to fast for us so we slowed it down after we saw one young guy on a sport quad (300ex?) flip over the bars a caught his ribcage on the right side bar(due to his hand grip sliding off) i think those guys from Alliance said they use to race Gncc so there a bunch of speed demons lol

Ridden both utes and sport quads through wooded trails. When I know for sure no one else in on the trail, it's open throttle and hang on. 40mph through the woods on a ute is not something I'd recommend to the light of heart or the lessor skilled, but it's quite possible.
My advice to x2700 would be to know your skills before trying it on any quad.
For anyone else, if you haven't done, don't knock those who have. It doesn't take large ********* to type, but if you ain't got em while riding, don't belittle those that do.
