Tow straps wont do you any good without a winch when you bust through the ice and there's only one atv there- i've been on both ends of that situation. Wrap the tow strap wroumd a tree or another solid object, and wrap the other end to your rear ayv frame- and then use your winch to yank out your buddy- just be careful because usually you dont use the full pulling power of the winch when just using your atv- as it'll just drag your atv through the dirt as your pulling the other atv out- but when you put your atv between the tree and your buddy and crank it in, your atv becomes a link in that chain and will feel the full (thousands) of lbs of force-

I once used that method to pull an atv out of a deep mud hole-

We dont much have to worry about ice or deep snow in KY
