It's been about three months now since i fixed the front diff. All in all seems to be working okay. I do still have an issue at times of getting it out of AWD. It seems I have to back up a ways to get it to disengage. I did read somewhere that it will do this because the JD roller cage is taller than the polaris. Once disengaged, it stays that way, and once engaged, it works well. Just thought I'd update!

Glad it worked out for you and you reported back. Your parts list will help others that want to use JD parts.

Item #4 still shows a plastic roll cage along with a "High performance" optional aluminum cage. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Both plastic and optional aluminum cages show to be different numbers than the 700 and 800 machines. Doesn't look like this particular John Deere parts kit would fit your atv if you ever were to have problems. I'm sure aftermarket JD or others would work.No one has posted the numbers that I'm aware of. Maybe others might be of help. Just keep the fluid changed regularly.

I had that problem on mine. Needing to go into reverse to disengage AWD. Mine is the twin hub locking type not the single centrail differential lock type.
Anyways after I changed the hub fluid with clean new stuff it was fine again.

The Hillary system seems to want clean fresh fluid to work correctly.
