Default 05 sportsman 400 no rear brakes with pedal.

hey guys. Ive got another issue with my sportsman. I have no rear brakes with the foot pedal. It works okay with the hand lever. Pads are okay. Rotor is a little wore down. I did notice the line coming from what I believe is the master cylinder, is a little pinched, but nothing that I would think would cause an issue. I removed the bleeder, and I press on the pedal, and will occasionally get a shot of brake fluid. Is it possible I have air in the lines? I do not recall if while riding the rear wheels locked with the hand brake.
Thanks for the help.

Best to have a vacuum bleeder as it will take a lot of pumping up the pedal, releasing the bleed valve, and pumping up again. It's all because of the small master cylinder behind the right foot well. If the rear brake isn't used every once in a while almost all of them will bleed down and suck air through the small seals. If a vacuum bleeder doesn't help you may have to replace the master cylinder. Item #17. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

as long as the brake fluid never ran dry or had a hole some where, there should not be any air in the brake system. alot of the rear foot brake stop working over time just from lack of use(poor design imo) or other reasons. something you could try that has worked for me a few times w/ differnt bikes is too put a heavy weight of some sort on the foot pedal to hold down the lever w/ force after pumping a few times and leave it there say for hours or even over night and some times it restores it to actual working condtion.
