Tool compartment in the rear.. Cylinder head bolts 18-20 foot pounds. You'll need a new head and base gasket.. You really need a good service manual on this engine, head has to bled after assembly, plus other things to check like counter balance fluid.See if you can download the link I gave you or even this one. Some places you can get them for 5 bucks!

I've already ordered gaskets. So when I put the head back on im gonna have to bleed the air out of the radiator but im gonna take that time to flush the cooling system an hopefully have a new radiator by then the one on it is beat to hell from the cooling fan

The 10mm bolt at the back of the head has to be bled to remove any trapped air after you install a new radiator or anytime coolant is drained. Most people overlook this and can cause the engine to overheat..

I have a 96 xplorer 400 suppose to be 4x4. I can't seem to get the front drive sprocket off thought there is a pin in it but can't find it.

It's there unless someone installed a different type drive shaft?? Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...1996&fveh=5419 The front carrier shaft has a hole for the pin, isn't shown, but is what locks the drive shaft in. Once the pin is out, drive shaft removed the sprocket can come off. Down load this manual or get one on Ebay.http://gh-ftp.com/ORV%20Manuals/Pola...0All%20Models/

You might be able to form one for the base, but the head gasket is critical on this machine. Cometic gaskets are reasonable along with some others.Just check Ebay, etc. Cometic Top End Gasket Set | ATV | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC http://www.ebay.com/itm/Namura-Top-End-Gasket-Kit-1994-1995-Polaris-400L-400-L-2x4-4x4-6x6-/350601084020?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51a173fc74&vxp=mtr
