Default Polaris L&R Rear cargo box?

Who has a Polaris L&R rear cargo box? How water tight is it? I have a 2 up seat/storage, not really too fond of it. Looking for a storage box, will add the backrest later.

Would you have any pics of the inside?

I have the one for the touring model (replaces the rear seat). It sealed well for about a month, but then started to warp, and never sealed right after that.

Thanks. Found the one I want, way less money too. And they have a mounting kit that uses the L&R mounts.

You should be happy with the Kolpin box. I don't personally have any Kolpin stuff, but I haven't heard a lot people that were unhappy with them.

My friend just bolts on a Tool box on his ATV. Pretty well the same thing I would think.
Pic is not his but tool boxes come in many sizes and materials. Most are all water tight.

I live alloy checker plated myself rather then plastic.

That's a great solution too but its more permanent. I think in this case he liked the fact that the box could be used with lock and ride hardware. I assume he only wants to use the box part of the time and be able to quickly remove it whenever he doesn't want to use it. Honda and Yamaha could take a lesson from Polaris with their lock and ride system.

I thought the lock and ride mounting kit he mentioned bolts to any box, just line up the mount bracket holes and drill.

No they used a compression fitting to lock the boxes to the rack holes. We sold a bunch of these along with Kolpin products, boxes, gun cases, gun racks, etc and agree that Kolpin is better than Polaris.
