Non ethanol is a plus on any machine. As far as the "all wheel drive" system on the Polaris atvs,the front wheels don't kick in unless you have it awd mode and the rear wheels slip. Basically it's a rear wheel drive until better traction is needed.I'd get a service manual. Cheapest and best thing you can do right off. What fluids are you including in the "fluid change"? Is there any particular fluid on those machines that need changed after the break-in period? How long does it generally take to break in? I just ordered one of those manuals.

 

The manual tells you what fluids to change and how much. Engine oil is the one fluid you can deviate from. Basically any oil like 0w40,5w40,5w50 can be used as long as it's full synthetic.The other oils are the gear case(AGL fluid) front diff (Demand Drive Plus) and the rear diff which you can use any GL5 rated 80/90 gear oil.Plus the Polaris recommended oil filter has several different crossover filters you can use instead.http://www.oilfilter-crossreference....OLARIS/2540086

 

Between my dad, brother, and myself we have numerous Polaris ATVs and Rangers. Is it recommended to run non-ethanol gas in them all the time or is it okay to use ethanol most of the time and just run a tank of non through once in a while? Whenever I change any of the fluids I'll be using Amsoil. Is it true that Polaris Pure fluids are actually Amsoil? I can't thank you enough for all the info so far!!!

Personally I run non ethanol in everything but the autos. Ethanol fuel less than 10% isn't going to kill them quickly, but over time you will have more issues. Leaving it in the tank for any extended time of non use is asking for trouble.

 

Non ethanol stations are around down here,but many are just too far for the average owner.That's why Stabil,Star Tron,etc are the next best thing and important.Texas Ethanol Free Gas Stations

 

The closest place to me to get non-ethanol gas is about 40 miles south toward Detroit where I never go. The only place I've actually been to and seen it is over 120 miles north. I just add Sta-Bil and Sea Foam to winterize my quad and lawn mower. I was using just Sta-Bil for years and never had a problem.

 

old polaris tech, Thanks for the link to the manuals. However, they don't seem to have Ranger manuals--it's confusing with Polaris using the name Rangers for RZRs. Is there a place to get service manuals for Rangers? I need two: 07 700XP and 09 700XP. Thanks
