Thats what im going to do. Other than changing the case or cdi, Ricky's is about my only option. This thing reminds me of the Johnny Cash song "one piece at a time" except it seems to have came from factory that way, haha. But thanks for all your fast help bud. I'll keep you updated on what i find out.

Well i'm back to follow up. That way if somebody else is gonna go through this headache maybe this will help them. I never did get a return call from Ricky Stator about rebuilding my original. I ended up replacing my newer style cdi for a 3plug/2plug with green wire older style. Had to change the bracket too since the older style was smaller. But after all the headache, its running great even with the cheap ebay stator in it. I did find me a 99 Sportsman 500 for $450.00, but the stator and flywheel are junked in it. Anyway, i hope this follow helps somebody else maybe one day. And I appreciate all your knowledgeable, fast responses,(Old Polaris Tech). Thanks again!

Glad you got it figured out and running ok. These before/after a certain date model changes do nothing but screw things up for a lot of people on electronics and suspension parts mainly.I found that out on early models when Polaris used two different style cv joints(BTB and Neapco) and nether would interchange with each other on the driveshafts.
