I accidentally posted in the regular polaris forum, I dont know how to delet it.

hi opt,

today I was towing the kids around in the snow with the wheeler and just as the one kid went flying off I let off the throttle and the wheeler died. I immediately tried to start it and it just clicked like something was set up, the second time I turned the key it turned over fine. i tried to start it on starting fluid and it wouldnt run on that. so I looked at spark. it seems to be blue then orange and the first second of trying to start the wheeler i see lots of blue sparks then the spark slows down and start turning orange and blue. does any of this ring a bell?
I am going to check compression hopefully in the morning.

I checked compression and looks like I only have 40 psi... not good. does anyone know if it is rings or the head?

 

just an FYI, OTP has pasted away. Look at my sticky notes on the top of the Polaris page. you also might have a stuck open valve causing low compression

 

Whitetailhunter If you think its a valve stuck open you might try a dose of Seafoam in your gas Ive see it work on small gas engines. Jut a thought.

 

... or a busted timing chain. Not that familiar with your machine, but can you look in the valve adjustment hole and see if anything is moving when it's cranked?
