2002 Sportsman 700 Problem with front CV axles
#11
If you get the new parts from a trusted source such as Quad Logic or All ***** Racing then you should have no problem with the fit and function of those parts. However if you are trusting Amazon or Ebay to supply goods parts you are taking a chance as most but not all brands in those sites are generally just more cheap Chinese knock off or outright counterfeit parts so the choice is yours. Me personally I pay the little extra money to buy the best parts I can get because I only like to do it one time.

Well I rebuilt the Front gear box, Put everything back together and same problem (as I tighten the right front hub bolt on the last 2 turns the CV axle pops out of the gear box) I am at a loss the lower a arm is the only thing I can think but it looks to be original. I think I am going to put it back together and put it in storage until spring and see if anyone here can think of anything.
Thanks for all of your help. Additionally the frame looks straight no dents or bends a arm ls straight no noticeable dents or bends.
Have a Great Day

I am wondering if the correct wheel bearings are in the hub. I’m not sure what style yours are if they are taped bearings it straight race type . But possibly they are not the correct dimensions being too narrow which is allowing too much space in the hub so the axle nut pulls the axle out of the gear case. Maybe possible there is a spacer missing for in between the bearings. I’ll see what I can find out.

It appears your strut does use the single piece sealed roller bearings but from the pictures it looks like the bearing may not be set deep enough into the strut housing. It should have a circlip or snap ring holding it in but it’s hard to tell from the pictures if one is there.
If the bearing is not located correctly in the strut it could allow the axle to be pulled too far out when you tighten the nut.
I’m really at a loss here now.
If you have used all the correct parts and installed them correctly then the axle nut should not pull it out of the gear case .
Unless something is not right in the strut or hub. Are you positive they are the correct hubs ?

The left side is good, The right side is the one that pops out (it is also the side looks like they put a new axle in before I got it) maybe they also replaced the hub bearing and used the wrong bearing? When I get it apart again in the spring I will compared both sides and see if the problem is there. I am frustrated with it, and I think I blew a head gasket on my truck so that is my imediate problem.
Thanks for all of your help it is much appreciated.
