Nice Name,

Anyway I don't know much about clutches and springs and all of that either. However, I think that the only roles the springs play are the engagement RPM's and shift rate. A stock Sport/Scrambler 400 produces it's peak horses around 5700 rmps. A different spring can be added to make it engage at that point. I don't know anything at all about the shift rate, so someone else will have to answer that one. Also, if you plan on any mods like Pipes and stuff like that it changes your power curve so you might want to wait until after to choose a spring. Give Rick Ritter a call at (618)644-3211, or check out www.rittercycle.com for more info. I recently bought some parts off of him, and he is very good to deal with. Later.
