Hey Guys,

I'm going to be getting some new tires and wheels for my Sport. I have the tires Narrowed down to 2 choices....GBC Dirt Devils and Maxxis Sur Traks. I think that I'm going to get the Sur Traks, but the only reason the Dirt Devils are haning in there is because they are cheaper. I'm going to also be putting Bandit's on the front.

Now for the rims I can't decide whether or not to get aluminum or steel. If I get the .190 ITP Aluminum wheels it is about $90 more than the steel ones. How good do the steel ones hold up to rust and corrosion? I can deal without the nice shiny aluminum (at least they aren't white...the stock ones are butt ugly).

Also, the Douglas .125 rims are a lot cheaper, and are only a few dollars more than the steel ones. I ride on trails mostly, and it doesn't take too many hard hits, but as you guys know once in a while a little collision is unavoidable. Would they hold up okay for my type of riding?

Thanks for the help.

-Josh

Does anybody have the Douglas .125 Alum. Rims? How have they held up on the trail? Thanks.

The Douglas .125 are to thin for the trails, they will be bent in no time at all. I have a set for the dunes because they are much lighter. I use the Douglas .190 for the trails, they are as heavy as the steel, but look much better, so its up to you to decide if its worth the extra cash to look good.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll probably just go with the steel rims for now, and save the $90 to put towards my porting that I'm thinking about doing. Between modding my sled and quad I like to save a few bucks wherever I can. Regardless the steel ones will look better than those crappy white factory ones. Blah! Thanks again.

I have ITP's .190 with sur traxx in rear and bandits in front on my warrior. The sur traxx are heavy but wear great and offer much traction in mud.I ride very rocky and muddy terrain without any problems.I would buy them again.
