2002 Sportsman 500 in stock in Minnesota

I saw the 2002 Sportsman 500 yesterday! It was a bright yellow and had new graphics on the tank and new graphics (True 4WD)on the removeable panels. The technicians have not received their spec sheets for them but Tom said he believed that it was slightly faster than last years HO and the clutch engagement felt different.
No changes were evident in the plastic or racks. The production date was 6/05/01 so it looks as if Polaris has been stock piling these things for a while.
I also saw the new Goodyear Rawhide Grip tires on the RMK. Outstanding looking tire. Massive deep lugs, it looked like an improved Mud Runner.

Thor..
My son just went and bought a new 500ho..I think its a 01 model though. At least my Honda will last a little while longer as my wife won't pound on it so hard!!!
150 miles on the 'Cat ...no problems yet..but it sure seems louder than the Honda.
Is this your year for up grade??
Ride safe and have FUN!!!!!

Bill,
Although I love reading about, looking at, and pondering the new models, I think that I will just wait until I get to use my extended warranty that I purchased for the Magnum. It seems like a good year for upgrading but I will probably wait until there is only 6 months left on the warranty and then consider upgrading. (18 months to go)
I haven't had any problems with the Magnum yet. I did replace the brake pads at 1675 but that has been it. I do have the mysterious click that the owners of 500's report and the dreaded take off engagement clunk (commericially acceptable btw according to Polaris) and that's it. My dealer says drive it until it breaks and then we will fix it.
150 miles on the Arctic Cat? Wow, how do you keep them so low? or does driving in reverse while plowing snow erase miles? LOL

Thor...
Remember there are walleyes, lake trout and muskies to be caught..and some one has to do it!!
Maybe my speedo on the Cat is slow ..hey maybe that's why I can't get 50 mph...
My wife and I did the Vahalla trail (Iron River,Wis.) to play area 26 over the 4th...hopefully we will put some miles on this fall...
