400 Reeds some info please

Both companies manufacture carbon fiber reeds. If you use the reed spacer, which is highly recommended by both manufacturers, the lifespan on the petals should be a long long time. If you go to the website Mobiledyno.com, you can see a Banshee dyno run with both brands. Dynos don't lie...... HPD only sells V-force, Hot Seat only sells V-force. These people have countless hours of R&D on these engines, they know what works and what doesn't. My original V-force reeds are in perfect shape after a year of running on a Full race HPD mod motor ( with the reed spacer I might add) The only reason I changed to Delta II's is because there was dyno proven horsepower increases....Dynos don't lie......

I run the boyeson carbon fiber reeds in my stock reed cage. I haven't tried running a reed spacer yet so i do not know how long that will last or if it gives it much more power. Based on my experience with the delta v-force reed cage and the boyeson carbon fiber reeds i recommend the carbon fiber ones. They are a better value than the delta v-force reed cage.

The V-Force reeds are carbon fiber. I'm surprised that nobody caught this. HPD also claims that the original V-Force reed cage and reeds give more power. I just had a friend switch from the Boyeson Rad Valve to the old V-Force cage. He noticed an improvement immediately. He runs nitrous.

I have questioned the Delta V Force 2 cost up-grade option. In installed them with an HPD spacer on the 400 with air box mods,39PWK carb, cool head, 1mm oversize wiseco, HPD pipe & muffler, roller clutch, and clutch kit, and really did not notice any imporvement! It might have a differnece, but I couldn't feel it.
Best value for money mod you can make is tightening the throttle cable so the carb opens properly!

I must be in the minority but I noticed alot crisper throttle response immediately after installing the v-force delta 2's on my bike, The top end seems a little better and the bike just feels a little more snappy I guess for the starting price of $150 most people want a 5hp gain but it is more in the range of 1hp, But for the smoothness in the throttle I figure it was a pretty good take when COMBINED with my other mods, If your worried about money or the most bang for your buck pass it up, But if your going to build a total package I rate it as a must have.

I installed a set of V-Forces with a spacer, and noticed MUCH crisper throttle responce. I had a pipe & silencer, airbox mods, K & N air filter and clutch kit, so it was moving quite a bit more air though the engine than stock.
The more you have done, the more improvement you get.
