WHATS THE BEST PERFORMANCE MODS FOR A SCRAMBLER 500 4 STROKE???
#21
500scr,
All I can speak for is my Scrambler. Bone stock the only way the front end would come off the ground was if I hit a bump in the road or if I got on my knees and pulled really hard. It could be a variety of reasons. I think you will agree that riding a wheelie on an automatic is slightly different than a standard shifter.
Anyway, I was really impressed and very happy with my clutch job. Sounds like you don't need one. (Maybe I am heavier than you, maybe you have more experience on automatics, who knows the reasons you can wheelie). Based on my experience I would get the clutch job done on my next quad before it ever left the showroom floor...that is how happy I am with it.

500SCR,
Yes, you are missing something. Most modded 400s will pull the wheels up while moving at 30 mph. Just about any stock machine (Scrambler 400 & 500) will pull the front wheels while standing still (Celeste's lightly modded Trailblazer will do this). What we are talking about true open class horsepower in the 65-75 HP range. The 500 with every bell and whistle that every one makes can't even come close to that kind of power. A fully modded 500 peaks at around 45-50 horsepower. Now you see where we are coming from.
