Anyone have snow on the ground yet?

Yep, got snow Sat. It is just a few inches right now. We had a storm a few weeks ago that had 18 inches, but that all melted already. So now we just have the few inches that fell on Sat. My GF and I went out today. She rode the snowmobile and I rode the Xplorer. The roads where we live are all ice still, so we could ride right down the road. Soon we will both be riding quads when I get my 650. It's fun riding in the snow, especially on icy roads. The lakes aren't frozen yet, so the road will have to do for my icy donuts in front of my driveway. We've had snow for quite a while here, but the rain we got last night dropped us from about 8 or 10 inches to 4 or 5. But still, it's decent... I've had the snowmobiles out a few times, and the Xplorer out a lot.
Speaking of the Xplorer, to those of you who have the stock tires, and have heard of people flipping the front tires for added flotation, IT'S TRUE! I just did this today, and I must say, it helped a LOT! My top speed in the snow increased by 10mph (from about 30 to about 40, in 4WD), turning is easier and the front tires carve a lot better, and the rear tires don't dig down into the snow like they used to. Instead, they pull you up on top of it. I purposefully tried to get stuck this afternoon before I flipped them in a 3 foot tall snow bank, and without much effort, I had the thing high centered and had to get the shovel. I tried the same after I'd flipped the tires, and instead of digging myself onto a platform, the tires instantly grabbed and pulled ahead.
To all who ride in the snow with their ATV, especially if you've still got the stock Dunlops (I don't know how other brands do), I would HIGHLY recommend doing this. It only took me a half an hour, and that was mostly just time spent chipping the packed snow away from the rims to get to the lug nuts.

Switch both sets of tires left to right, effectively reversing the tread pattern, so instead of digging into the snow, it just pulls you up on top of it. Just make sure the valve stems point out, as I think the fronts will hit on the brake calipers if you put them on wrong.
I dunno if it will help as much in course granular, "sugar" snow, but it should show some benefit.

I am in Buffalo, NY and if you have the Weather Channel you know we had a "Very" white Christmas!
I also want to add I am running 26" Titan 589's (M/T) tires and they are great in the snow! These have a lot more bite then the Tracker P's in the deep as well as the light snow.
Well ...... Merry Christmas to all....
