Believe it or not but I can get a brand new 34mmTMX for $108(US). That is alot cheaper than me trying to buy a brand new SC400 carb from Polaris.
Are you still running the stock helix? I am glad I switched to a straight 40 degree. I have alot better control over my take off and initial acceleration. On the loose dirt or slippery wet trail, my driven clutch doesn't try to shift into a higher gear so fast. This gives me alot better control of my quad instead of it always trying to spin wildly to one side or the other and it actually increased my acceleration due to the fact that I'm not wasting near as much waiting for it to stop spinning.
The only thing about painting with high temp. paint is finding a big enough oven to cure it in. That will be the hard part for me. The regular household oven isn't large enough.

I thought where you work for a dealership, you could buy a used carb from one of you customers that upgraded their stock one for a larger one.I would think you could get it for next to nothing if they weren't going to use it anymore.I got mine from a friend of mine that bought the sc400 new in 99 and didn't even put gas in it before he removed the stock carb and put a 38TMX on it.I bought it for $40 from him.
As far as my helix it is stock. If I change it I might get a roller clutch setup for it.I've spent enough money on it for now.Street bike season is coming soon and I have a few things that I am going to do to my ZX11 before I get it back on the road.
The high heat paint I am talking about is a high heat barbecue paint that is good for 1200 deg.All you do is paint it on and let it smoke the first time you run the bike for a few minutes. The way my pipe is rusting it will rust right through in no time if I don't do something about it now.The metal is very thin.
