I heard there were significant differences in the new 700 belt and that if you put one ona sp 500 there will be noticible performance gains...

 

I havent heard that one yet.
But I cant see gaining any performance over a belt?

I have also heard that it makes a big differance. Runs cooler because of the cogs on the outside and the rubber is a differant compound , said to grab better. I'm going to try in the next couple of weeks.

 

There are two types of Polaris belts Non-EBS and EBS belts. The 700 and the 500 use the same belt.

 

Sorry, the 700 uses a different belt than the 500. 700 belt p/n I think is 3211091. It is said to be a slightly differnt compound, stickier and cleaner.

 

I read in another forum that you could put the 700 belt on a 2001 Sportman 400. I don't see how it would work since the 700 has EBS and the 400 does not. Anyone know for sure if it would work? Only curious because of better engagement with the 700 belt.

 

You can put a EBS belt on a non EBS machine but not the other way around.
