Ok.I have a 2000 trail boss 325 and so far its great.I have installed the rcr stage one kit and i am looking to put the 414 kit with a new cam in it.Also i am looking to start sand dragging. The boss will have paddles on it and my question is with the 414 kit and cam what times should i expect to get in a 100 yard drag.If anyone has any info on this subject please post a reply.

times=still slower than 95% of your competition. You're building the wrong machine for drag racing.

your not goin to get a trail boss to 3.7, 4.7 or 5.7. 6.5 at t5he lowest!! A sport or scrambler is capable of probally 4.7 if built well

Thats a good point but i am not gonna race anyone that can pull 3.7.we have classes.super pro 5 sec and lower, pro 6.9 and lower.Atv1 7.5 and slower.MY guess is that with new pistions, cam, lower gearing, and a 414 kit i should pull a 6.5 or lower.Any other help would be great

I bet the only thing still Polaris on that 3.7 second dragster is the plastic! The difference between your machine and that Polaris is probably NOS, alcohol, and a bunch of Pig Iron! If you are serious about doing this racing, you will first want to put your machine on a diet. Polaris's are heavy but can be reduced quite easily. Get out a magnet and see what is already aluminum on your machine. Check the rims, bumpers, and floorboards. Get aluminum rims, bumpers, and nerfs to replace the floorboards. Lose the skid plates. The aftermarket is slim for your machine, so some creativity and fabricating might be required on your part. Lose the airbox and go to a carb clamp on filter. Get some titanium wheel studs to shave some more weight. Some diehard dragsters have removed the front brakes. Electric start can go also(I believe it can be eliminated on a 4 stroke). Once the weight is under control, go to work on your clutching. Get the hand book from AAEN to tell you everything you want to know about Polaris clutches and tuning. Another necesitty is tires. Go to where you'll be racing and take notes on what works the best. Watch other Polaris's to see how they handle the race. Finally, once the machine is race ready, practice, practice, practice. Learn your machine to the core and find out what is the fastest way from point A to B. That will get yoou to be good at racing, but the Trailboss will still be the limiting factor. It just is not a drag race-oriented machine. Good luck.

Have you been on the AZ Bad Boys forum? I think that they are making some lightweight drag racing axles. That would help save some weight also. I think that hotseat(not sure) sells extended swingarms. You could even put on scrambler plastic, and trim it to be more aerodynamic. How much horsepower will it have with the 414 kit? I think that there is an equation for how long it will take, if you know how much it weighs and how much HP it has, but i'm not completely sure. I would like to run my 'Blazer against a 414 to see what the dif. is.
