it is your first clutch kit? so you want some more snap,it depend on what you're riding in but with a sportsman 400 i known what you're doing especially,i think you should look for EPI (online),they get utility/sport/performance clutch kits for polaris, they're a sure values and not over priced and well finished, just my thouths for the first try on clutch setup,if you want something more i think you should look for the specialize compagnies as well...

o k,i think the EPI kit is going right for your needs, clutch kit will only give you more "usable" power,if you want some more power you should look for engines mods as well to match up well the clutch setup.

EPI uses 30 year old weight design. Also you will lose top end. Try a clutch kit that Polaris racing team uses. heelclicker. Proven on the track, dirt, strip. They hold 8 Grand National Titles. Ask your self this,,Why does polaris use heelclickers in ALL their racing teams. They Don't use the other kits out their for some stange reason. I wonder why. Proven product maybe? heelclicker

well, you didn't said you wanted a "performances" oriented clutch kit,
if this is your first clutch kit i'll stay away from the heels kit, those kit are best when the machines is REALLY fine jetted and it is a major task to deal with the heelclickers,it is for "edge" performance when racing,it up to you if you want spend more time on tuning the clutch than riding go with the heels...

heelclicker.com If you want that low end torque and not giving up anything in top end or between. May be thats why polaris uses them and nothing else. P.S. Did you know Polaris even tooled their line to fit their new machines for this kit....

Is this a new 400 Sportsman or a older 2 stroke? If you just want more snap put in a white Polaris primary spring for a 425 or a green for a 2 stroke.
